The clinical role of honey in treating diabetic foot ulcers: A review

چکیده
Article points 1. Foot ulcers in persons with diabetes are increasingly prevalent and a serious public health issue. 2. Anecdotal evidence suggests that honey is an effective agent in the healing of diabetic foot ulcers. 3. This review assesses if honey as a wound dressing is beneficial in promoting the healing of DFUs. 4. High quality trials are required to demonstrate the effectiveness of honey in the clinical management of diabetic foot ulcers.
